We are looking for dark fiction short stories to include in our semi-regular email newsletter: Jamais Vu.
These are stories for the first six (6) newsletters. So, we are looking for no less than SIX and no more that EIGHTEEN short stories.
Very specifically we prefer early career authors for this project. What's that mean?
It's kind of subjective, but we're looking for unknown folks who are looking to get some attention.
Payment is one cent a word, up to $15. This is an email newsletter, so anything over 1,500 words is really just too long.
The payment is for worldwide rights in English distributed via email and use of the story in a yearly annual published via eBook and paperback at the publishers discretion - which means we don't know if we'll do this or not. If there is a yearly annual created you also will get an eBook copy and paper (if paper is created).
All rights revert back to the author upon release of the email.
We're not stickler for submission guidelines as long as you use common sense.
A few things will get you rejected without being read:
- using the space bar to indent paragraphs
- placing a hard return at the end of each line of text
- sending your manuscript in a format other than docx or doc.
Our style manual of preference is the Chicago Manual of Style (if that helps you).
Sorry, no fan fiction.
Please be sure to follow our submission guidelines and sign-up for the newsletter while you're at it.
We will close the submission period at the end of September and will notify ALL submitters in October.
